Let's Fly: Rosetti with Butterfly

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hi again from Laurie as we near the end of our month long challenge:  Let's Fly.  I hope you have been creating along with us all month and entering your makes here on the Portal.

I have a card here using one of my very favorite Lost Coast stamps - Rosetti With Butterfly.  I love the Arts and Crafts movement and the art that it inspired, so this stamp is very special for me.

My image is stamped with brown ink onto a piece of vintage kraft paper that I have torn and inked the edges of.  I layered this with a black panel and layered that with a piece of vintage text from an old book.  Final step was to layer that with another black panel.

I started to add some color to this with some markers, but I really like the old look of this the way it is and decided not to do anything that would distract from the wonderful design of the stamp itself.

Be sure to get your projects posted here on the Portal by the end of March for a chance to win some free stamps!

#183 Lets fly challenge.

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Hello, No tutorial today but a brief explanation.
I used these stamps for this card.
and

I also used
distress oxide Iced spruce,
Wilted violet,
Picked rasberry
Blueprint sketch.
And distress ink Black soot.
A black waterproof ink.
White gel pen.
Black fineliner.

I started by making a puddle with Iced spruce and some water and dabbing the paper into it.
Let it dry, then make stripes with the side of the oxide ink pads.
Stamp the ravens with the waterproof ink.
Color the ravens with pencil or marker.
Give them some accents with the white gel pen.
Stamp the text on white paper and draw a line around the words.
Cut the words in to pieces.
With the black distress ink and an ink blender we now darken the outer edge of the paper.
That gives it some mystery.
Glue the words on the card.
Now take a larger sheet of white paper,
and stamp it completely full with the Daisy floral and black ink.
Now stick the raven card on top and matt with black cardstock.
This is a somewhat older technique,
but as you can see, you can quickly and easily achieve an interesting background.

So now its up to you, and I hope you join the challenge.
It runs till end of the month, so still time to join.
There is new rubber to win, so thats nice.
Goodluck and dont forget to have fun with your craft.

Man will fly

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Goodmorning all, Cathy here with a card for you today.
Stamp Used:

I started with a stencil and some distress oxide ink. I randomly did that all over the card. I then stamped Flying car in the middle with black ink.
I then took a ruler sticker and added to the card along with some die cut gears. Next, I added a sliver star I cut in half to one of the die cut gears.
I added it to a black card base and the card is done.

#183 - Let's Fly Grumpy Pixie

Welcome back to Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda collide to bring you twice the inspiration and double the fun!

Another fun card to share with you for the current challenge Let's Fly. This time I used one of my favorite Hard Luck Pixies - Lucy.....she's got such a great grumpy going on...it's so easy to love her.

I started off by inking up a scrap of orange/pink pattern paper that was in my stash. I stamped Lucy in the center and then stamped off a second image for a mask. I did the same with the Unicorn sentiment. I then stamped a grungy background using stamps from Brush Strokes and parts of the background stamp Grunge Black Swirl here and there.

Remember there is plenty of time to join in on the fun as our challenges run for the entire month now. Pull out your stamps that will let your imagination FLY!

Hello Portal Peeps!  Gail here today with some inspiration for the Let's Fly challenge.  We hope you get some time to join the fun.  Anything that flies and real rubber or clear stamping of course.  I've used Lost Coast Designs lovely Kingfisher stamp.

I stamped the Kingfisher stamp on white card, watercoloured with distress inks and cut down and around the left hand side of the image.  I stamped my yellow base card with Lost Coast Designs Flagstone Background using yellow ink and stamped the Thinking of You sentiment on the mounted panel.

You have until 23.59 PST on the 31st to join the Let's Fly fun and don't forget to follow us so you don't miss anything!  The team will be posting more inspiration throughout the month so do pop over and see what they are doing.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz
